4 months

Shawn and I have been married for four months now. These few months have been the happiest and hardest of my life. It has been hard to look at our wedding photos and remember that our wedding day was the last day I actually felt healthy. The photos also bring back wonderful memories of a most blessed day spent with family and friends.

After the wedding, the adrenaline left and I changed medications which caused my health to quickly spiral out of control. We never really had a "honeymoon phase" since our lives quickly became centered around survival. It's been hard for me to watch my husband work so hard outside the home and then come home and work around the house. I haven't been able to be the wife I hoped to be but I am so thankful my husband loves me just as I am. I am so blessed to be married to a husband who loves others before himself and who loves God with all his heart.

Through all the hardship and a few dashed hopes along the way I would never want to change any of it. This is where God wants us and where we need to be. There are times I wish we could just be a "normal" newly married couple but I know God is preparing us for ministry through this. Thankful for the last few months and am looking forward to the ones ahead.

Lyme and Brain Fog

Lyme Disease is a brain killer, a life changer, and a disease that's name sounds to nice to describe it's horrors. I suppose it's named after the man who discovered it but I think it should be renamed to something that doesn't sound so "fluffy". If you can't realized by my tone it as been a rough day week month. During this month I have experienced a number of scary and frustrating symptoms. To name a few, I have lost control of my neck causing my head to fall, opened my mouth to find no words could come out, and experienced a lot of brain fog and memory loss. Today, I want to explain what brain fog is like.

Imagine you have had a really bad day at work and all you want is to go home curl up in bed and hide from the day. But you have a looming chore ahead of you...shopping at Walmart and it's 8:00pm. You arrive at Walmart to screaming kids, crowded aisles and the lines ahead of you are horribly long. You're standing in the middle of the chaos and realize you don't have a list. Your head is swimming and you're about to shutdown and quite possibly cry. Stop right there because that is the feeling I have when brain fog comes.

Hope this helped explain a little more of what's been going on than I can usually explain. This post is not intended as a "why me Lord?" post, rather I want to explain what we've been going through on my blog since it can be difficult in person. As much as I hate (and feel horrible to admit) it can be exhausting telling everyone how I'm doing and what's going on. This does not mean I hate being asked these questions or am trying to avoid them instead I want to give some extra information. I am touched by everyone's worry concern, and prayers on our behalf. It means so much to me and I don't know where we'd be without the support God has blessed us with.

What a week!

Shawn and I have been so blessed this week. It's been good for me to be back in my hometown and introduce Shawn to family, friends, and a look into my childhood. The doctor's appointment went well. Just waiting for my Maryland doctor to get in touch with my Hawaii doctor so everything can be pieced together.

Church was a blessing today. So thankful for growing up with a Pastor who teaches and wants you to really understand Scripture. And the children in the service are always included with a special part of the sermon just for them. The members of the church are family and I am so blessed to have each one of them in my life. If my brain wasn't so tired and foggy I could just keep writing about my home church.

It has been a blessed trip thus far and we have another week left! More things left to do and more people to see.
